Summary
Kids review last week’s “favorite stories” and add new ones, especially from the New Testament, learning where they are in the Bible. They keep building the idea that every story has an address (book and “about where” in the big story), so they can find it for themselves.
Pick 3–4 different stories from Part 1, especially NT ones, for example:
Pick 3–4 different stories from Part 1, especially NT ones, for example:
- Jesus heals a sick person
- Jesus calms the storm

Action idea:
Action idea:
- “Lamp” – hold an imaginary flashlight low.
- “Light” – sweep it forward like lighting a path.
Movement: “Story Line Shuffle”
Make a simple “Bible line” on the floor:
Call a story (or show a picture), and kids move to where it belongs on the line:
Keep it quick and fun. Have them say as they move:
- Old Testament — Gospels — Acts/Letters
Call a story (or show a picture), and kids move to where it belongs on the line:
- “Daniel in the lions’ den” – Old Testament.
- “Jesus calms the storm” – Gospels.
- “Paul in prison” – Acts/Letters.
Keep it quick and fun. Have them say as they move:
- “Find the story in God’s big story!”
Lesson: “More Favorites on the Bible Map” (Large group)
Use 3–4 stories, focusing on the Gospels/Acts:
Example set:
1. On a whiteboard, draw three sections:
2. Place each story title in the right section and say aloud:
Reinforce that knowing “where it is” helps them open their own Bible and read it again later.
Example set:
- Jesus calming the storm – Mark 4 / Luke 8
- Feeding the 5,000 – in all four Gospels (choose one like John 6)
- Zacchaeus – Luke 19
- Paul and Silas in prison – Acts 16
1. On a whiteboard, draw three sections:
- Old Testament
- Gospels (Matthew–John)
- Acts & Letters
2. Place each story title in the right section and say aloud:
- “Zacchaeus is in Luke, one of the Gospels.”
- “Paul and Silas in prison is in Acts, after Jesus has gone back to heaven.”
- Old Testament: before Jesus comes.
- Gospels: Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
- Acts & Letters: what happened after, how the church followed Jesus.
Reinforce that knowing “where it is” helps them open their own Bible and read it again later.
Small Groups: “My Story Index (Page 2)”
If you made a “Where Is It?” sheet in Week 20, this is page 2; if not, you can start fresh.
For each new story:
For each new story:
- Leader tells/recalls the story in 2–3 sentences.
- Kids guess: “Gospels or Acts/Letters?”
- Leader helps them find it once in the Bible using the table of contents.
- On their sheet, they add:
- Story name
- Book name (and chapter if appropriate)
- A tiny drawing or icon (boat for calming storm, fish/loaves, tree for Zacchaeus, jail bars for Paul & Silas).
Closer Game: “Story Card Sort”
Prepare story cards (words or pictures) from both Weeks 20 and 21:
Examples:
Two lines or board areas:
Kids in teams race to sort the cards under the correct heading. Once sorted, review:
Point to each card and ask the group:
End with everyone saying:
Examples:
- Creation
- Noah’s Ark
- David and Goliath
- Daniel in the lions’ den
- Jesus’ birth
- Calming the storm
- Feeding the 5,000
- Zacchaeus
- Paul and Silas in prison
Two lines or board areas:
- Old Testament
- New Testament
Kids in teams race to sort the cards under the correct heading. Once sorted, review:
Point to each card and ask the group:
- “Old or New?”
- “Which big section: Law/History, Gospels, Acts/Letters?” (for older kids)
- Optional: “Who remembers the book name?”
End with everyone saying:
- “God’s word is full of true stories—and now we know where to find them!”
