b) Little David trusts God
Hold up the small “David.”
c) David and the sling (gentle, simple)
Show the sling and stones. Move Goliath a little way away.
e) Key phrase with motions
Teach and repeat:
Motions:
a) Big problem: Goliath

- “The soldiers were afraid. No one wanted to fight Goliath.”
b) Little David trusts God
Hold up the small “David.”
- “David was just a young shepherd boy. He brought food to his brothers in the army. When David heard Goliath shouting at God’s people, David said, ‘Who is this man who talks against the living God?’ David trusted God and wanted to help.”
- “David knew that God was bigger and stronger than Goliath. David said, ‘The Lord will help me.’”
c) David and the sling (gentle, simple)
Show the sling and stones. Move Goliath a little way away.
- “David did not wear heavy armor. He took his sling and chose five smooth stones from a stream. Then he went to face Goliath.”

d) Jesus connection
Put David near the children, then place your hand on the Bible.
“David was small and Goliath was big, but God was bigger than both of them. Sometimes we have problems that feel big and scary too—like being afraid, being sick, or when people are unkind. The Bible tells us that Jesus is with us and is stronger than any problem.”
“Jesus fought the biggest ‘giant’ of all—sin and death. When Jesus died on the cross and came back to life, He won the battle for us. We can trust Jesus to help us when life feels big and scary.”
