Set out:
As kids arrive, say simple lines:
- Free play: dolls/figures, toy dishes, blocks—prompt kids to share or help each other.
- Table: coloring page of children helping or sharing (e.g., helping a friend up, sharing toys) and crayons.

- “Today we will hear that the Bible helps me be kind.”
- “Kind means using gentle hands, words, and hearts.”
- “God is kind to us, and Jesus helps us be kind to others.”

Opening Prayer (echo prayer)
Children repeat after you:
“Dear God,
Thank You for loving us.
Thank You for Jesus.
Thank You for the Bible,
Your special book.
Help us listen and obey.

Sit kids in a circle. Have: a Bible, simple “kind or unkind” picture cards (sharing toy vs. grabbing, gentle hand vs. pushing, helping vs. laughing at).

a) What the Bible says about kindness

- “The Bible tells us, ‘Be kind and loving to each other.’ It also says, ‘Forgive each other, just as God forgave you because of Jesus.’ That means God wants us to treat others with gentle hearts because He has been kind to us.”
- “Kindness is sharing, helping, using gentle hands, and saying nice words. Unkindness is grabbing, hitting, using mean words, or leaving people out.”
b) Simple “kind/unkind” scenarios
Show a picture of someone sharing a toy.
- “This child is sharing a toy. Is that kind or unkind?” (Let them answer: kind.)
- “This child grabs the toy and makes the other child cry. Is that kind or unkind?” (Unkind.)
- Show helping up vs. laughing at someone who fell. Talk through 2–3 examples and ask them each time: “Is that kind or unkind?” Then say, “The Bible helps us choose the kind way.”
d) Key phrase with motions
Teach and repeat:

- “The Bible tells us that God showed His kindness in a big way: He sent Jesus. Jesus was kind to people who were sick, sad, or alone. He touched those no one would touch, He forgave sins, and He gave His life on the cross for us.”
- “Because Jesus loves us and forgives us, He can help us be kind and forgive others. When it’s hard to be kind, we can ask Jesus to help us.”

Craft – “Kind Hands”
Goal:
Visual reminder that our hands can be used for kindness, anchored in the key phrase.
Steps
Craft talk (short paragraph as they work)
Have children hold up their “kind hands” and say:

Steps
- Give each child a paper.
- Help them trace one or both of their hands on the paper (or an adult can trace).
- Inside or near the hands, invite them to draw or glue small pictures of kind actions (sharing toy, giving a hug, helping someone).
- Add the phrase at the bottom:
- “The Bible helps me be kind. Jesus helps me be kind.”
- They can color the big heart around the hands or add hearts around the page.
Craft talk (short paragraph as they work)
- “These are your hands. You can use them to help, to share, to give hugs, and to be gentle. The Bible tells us to be kind, and Jesus helps our hearts and hands to be kind. When you look at this picture, remember: ‘The Bible helps me be kind. Jesus helps me be kind.’”
